Edwina King was born June 1st, 1906 to Henry Clay King and Ethel Corrine Day in Gloster, Amite County, Mississippi. She was the second of five children. Her siblings were all males: Charles E., Henry, Robert G. and Rayford B.
Edwina was the mother of three children: Edwin T. King (my father), Kenneth Blaylock, and Mildred Blaylock. All three have now passed away. Edwin died in Indiana in 1973, Kenneth died in Louisiana in 1992, and Mildred died in Ohio in 2001.
She married (1) Dewitt Blaylock in MS, and (2) Mr. Courtney. To my knowledge, there were no children from the second marriage. Edwina was an LPN. She died on November 22nd in 1969 and was buried in the Rosetta Cemetery in Wilkinson County, Mississippi. I never got to know her as she lived in Louisiana, and we lived in Indiana. She was taken back to Mississippi to be buried.
