Meredith Dale Gibson
Born Meredith Dale Compton to Harry D. Compton and Marcile Martin Compton of Little Rock Arkansas, Meredith grew up and attended school through high school in Little Rock.  She moved first to Washington State in her late teen years and eventually to California during the war years where she met Charles "Sam" Samuel Gibson.  Meredith and Sam were married in 1952 and eventually settled in Santa Cruz, California where they raised their two children, Susan and Douglass.  Meredith resided in Santa Cruz until 1987 when she moved to the Sacramento area following her husband's passing.  She was found to have passed away at home, in her sleep, on March 5th.  She was 77 years old.

Meredith was a Family Genealogist and a very active member of the Genealogical Society of Santa Cruz County for many years.  Even after she moved from Santa Cruz, she continued to research her family lines and assist others in their quest for a family heritage. Her research afforded her membership in the Jamestowne Society, the Huguenot Society of Virginia, the Colonial Dames of XVIIth Century, the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Confederacy and the Arkansas State Pioneers Association of Pulaski County, Arkansas.

The above was given to me by her daughter, Sue
