John & Elijah sell to Josiah Shelton

This Indenture made this 13th day of august in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & three Between JOHN SHELTON & ELIJAH SHELTON of the County of Rockingham N Carolina of the one part & JOSIAH SHELTON of Pittsylvania Virginia of the other part Witnesseth that the said JOHN & ELIJAH SHELTON for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars Current money of Virginia in hand paid the ?receipt? Whereof is hereby acknowledged before the sealing and Delivery of this presents hath Granted, Bargained & sold & by these presents doth Grant bargain & sell unto the said JOSIAH SHELTON all our parts of a Certain tract or tracts of Land lying and being in the County of Pittsylvania on the North side of Dan river which is Coming to us by the death of WILLIAM SHELTON Dec.d when ever a Division of the same may take place, being the land where on HANNAH SHELTON Widow & relict of said WILLIAM SHELTON Dec.d now lives Containing three hundred & ?thirty? acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the said land and premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said JOSIAH SHELTON his heirs and assignees forever to the only proper use & ? of him the said JOSIAH SHELTON his heirs and assignees forever & lastly the said JOHN & ELIJAH SHELTON their heirs Ye all and Singular the premises hereby Granted & released with the appurtenances unto the ? JOSIAH SHELTON his heirs and assignees forever against them the said JOHN & ELIJAH SHELTON their heirs Ye all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these forever

At a Court held for Pittsylvania county the 16th day of Jan 1804 This indenture from JOHN SHELTON & ELIJAH SHELTON to JOSIAH SHELTON was presented in Court and proved by the oaths of three of the Subscribing Witnesses hereto to be the respective acts and Deed of the said JOHN and ELIJAH and by the Court ordered to be Recorded.
