Know ye that for diver's good Causes and Considerations but more Especially for and in Consideration of the Sum of Ten Shillings of good and Lawful Money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia We have given Granted and Confirmed and by these present for us our Heirs and Successors Do Give Grant and Confirm Unto WILLIAM SHELTON one certain Tract or parcel of Land Containing Eighty Acres lying and being in the County of Halifax on the North side of Dan River and bounded as followeth (to wit)
Beginning at GREENs Corner beech on the River thence along his line South seventy three degrees West twenty four poles to his corner red oak thence new lines North sixty degrees West eighty six poles to a pine North Sixty nine degrees East eighty six poles to an Ash on the River aforesaid and thence up the same as it Meanders to the first Station With all ? To have hold ? To be held ? Yielding and Paying ? Provided ? In Witness ? Witness our Trusty and Welbeloved Francis Fauquier Esq. our Lieut.
