Transcription

Know all men by these presents that no CHARLES CUTRELL and
JOHN RUFF of the county of Wilson & state of Tennessee
an held and firmly bound in the sum of twelve hundred
& fifty dollars to be paid to his daid Exvellency, his successers
in office, or afsigns, to which payment, with and ?
be made, ? bind ourselves, our heirs, executors ?
administrators, and each and every one of them ?
jointly & severally, firmly by these presents sealed
with our seals this 27th day of April 1837
The condition of the above obligation is such
that whereas CHARLES CUTRELL hath prayed and
obtained a license to marry MARY ANN LEWIS
Now if the Said MARY ANN LEWIS be an
actual resident in the County aforesaid
& then sshall not hereafter appear any ?
cause why the Said CHARLES CUTRELL & MARY ?
LEWIS should not be joined together in Holy
Matrimony as husband & wife, then this
obligation to be void & of no effect otherwise
to remain in full force & virtue

Wilson County

To any Justice of the Peace in said county
or any Regular Minister of the Gospel having
the call of Souls ~ Greetings ~
These are to authorise you or other of you
to soleminise the Rites of Matrimony between
CHARLES CUTRELL and MARY ANN LEWIS of your
county agreeably to the provisions of an act of
the General Afsembly in that case made and
provided. Provided always that the said
MARY ANN LEWIS be an actual resident
of said county, otherwise these shall be null
& void and shall not be accounted any license
or authority to you or either of you for the
purpoer aforesaid more than though they
? had never been prayed or granted
