Abbey Bethel Day was born on August 30th in 1873 to Bythrall Day and Mary Olivia McNeil (my Great-great-grandparents) in Wilkinson County, Mississippi where her parents lived all of their lives. Abbey married John Havard Hazlip on October 1st in 1891 in Wilkinson County, Mississippi. John and Abbey raised a huge family of 14 children
Their children were: George Burton born 1893, Henry Vaughn born 1894, Enola R. born 1895, John Rayford born 1897, Mary A. born 1899, Virginia born 1901, Pearl Martha born 1903, Josie H. born 1905, Nina E. born 1907, Thomas Bythrall born 1909, William Albert born 1911, James Barney born 1913, Florence Bethel born 1915, and Kathleen born in 1917.
In 1912, Abbey lost her father, Bythrall. By 1923, her mother, Mary Olivia also passed on. Abbey passed away herself in 1930 on September 11th, and is buried in Rosetta, Wilkinson County, Mississippi. John survived her with four teenage children yet to raise.
