DESCENDANTS OF JESSE KING
FIFTH GENERATION
(1) Jesse King, son of Thomas and Elizabeth (BURROUGHS) King, was born about
1790 in Orange, NC, and married about 1807 in Franklin Co, TN, (2) Martha
who was born about 1789. Jesse died Apr 1869 and was buried in Roller-King
Cem, Barry Co, MO.
In the printout I received from online sources it is said that data on
Jesse's family is from Milton L Forsythe, 3600 Stadium Dr, Ft Worth TX
76109-2945. He also quotes other family members.
A number of these family members are said to have died in Benton Co AR,
but are buried in Barry Co MO. This seems to me to need more explanation.
I have the feeling that this material may have been handed from person to
person until it really needs some checking and would like to hear from
someone who can clarify some of it. The problem of the deaths in Benton
Co AR and burial in MO needs to be explained, although I realize Benton
Co is not that far from Barry Co MO.
Then, I think some attention should be given to the wives of George W King.
These notes said he was married to Carolyn Stubblefied and Malinda
Vermillion. However, there is a another George W King who is said to have
had those two wives and an entirely different list of children. That
George and his father, Richard King, appear to be listed in 1850 Taney Co
MO. Other details are consistent to indicate that he is the one who
married the two women given.
I am unable to find George W King in 1850 census, although Jesse and all
the other sons are present in 1850 Barry Co. Another small detail is that
in one place it says that one of the relatives said all of Jesse's
children were born "at the headwaters of Upper Beans creek, Franklin
co TN, but he winds up with eleven children. Did someone add one later?

1809 in Rowan Co, NC, and married spouse unknown. George Washington
died 1862.

AR, (20) John Samuel Arnold who was born 1811 in Barnwell Co, SC. Jane
was buried in Roller-King Cem, Barry Co, MO. John Samuel died 1852.
(5) Andrew Johnson King, son of Jesse and Martha () King, was born 1811 in
Upper Bean's CR, Franklin Co, TN, and married about 1855, (21) Elizabeth
who was born about 1827 in TN.

(6) Thomas Jefferson King, son of Jesse and Martha () King, was born
1813 in Upper Bean's CR, Franklin Co, TN, and married about 1842 in
MO, (25) Mary Jane Eubank who was born 1822 in MO. Mary Jane died
1855/1858.
Mary Jane m (1) James Cunninham in Barry Co MO. He must have died
shortly after the marriage, because they had one child, Eliza Ann, b 13
Jun 1841 in Barry Co, and by 1843 Mary Jane was married to Thomas J
King and they had a child b OCt 1843.

Rebecca M was buried in Roller-King Cem, Barry Co, MO.
