HENRY KING OF BRUNSWICK CO, VA

Introduction:
This is one of the most researched lines in the southern U S. Many descendants have been interested in genealogy. This is a brief outline, which I made from my own PAF files, using Kinwrite, a program from LDB Associates, P O Box 20837, Wichita KS 67208. This program does a nice job of turning data files into prose, but for my purposes here, I have omitted any source notes. As we go along, I may add some very abbreviated sources such as will or land references, to prevent confusion, but the main idea is to furnish a road map for the benefit of King researchers. I am hoping other researchers will link their own web pages to this one, hopefully in such a way as to add to what is presented here.

The information I have given here began with work done by Jeane Galau of Sherwood WI. Jeane has done a great job of bringing together the records of this family, including excellent sources. She has given me persmission to make the information available to others. I can supply that file, 92 pages, for $18. A more finished product would be the book by Gayle K Blankenship, "Families of Warren, Franklin and Granville Counties NC & VA Ancestry", $35.00.

Almost before I got this listing edited, I could see that a lot of work remains to be done on this line, connecting later generations. I recently received a printout of work done by another researcher, which cites many references, and there are numerous discrepancies between the two versions. Since I have no idea which version is correct, as time permits I may spotlight some of those problems and hope that some of the researchers will be interested in resolving them.
