VIRGINIA LAND PATENTS FOR KING

"Cavaliers and Pioneers" by Nell Marion Nugent, in three volumes, is one of the standard works for Virginia research. Mrs Nugent abstracted the Colonial Land patents. The books have an every-name index, making it easy to follow not only the patents directly, but also patents to neighbors. These patents are available on microfilm from an LDS Family History Center, for those who would like a copy for their files.

Two transactions mention Elizabeth City Co. In Patent Book 9 there is a patent for Henry Royall, 28 Oct 1697, who had transported Thos King.

In 1722 (Patent Bk 11) John King is mentioned as a neighbor of Wm Hatchill, Wm Brace, John Gibbers and Thomas Baker.
