John Shelton

In the name of God Amen, I JOHN SHELTON of the county
of Rockingham and state of North Carolina being in proper
bay? of mind have this Ninteenth day of October in the year
of our Lord one thousand and twenty eight made this
my last will and Testament: Firt[sp] of all I bequeath unto
my wife SARAH my tract of land that I now live upon cont
aining one hundred and fifty four acres, upon & during of
her life and after her death to be divided between my son
JOSIAH and my Grandson JOHN MAYBURY beginning at Ogburns
Corner on the head of the branch naming? from thence due
East till it Strikes my line between myself and Terry James
be there more or lefs of said Land in each lot my son
JOSIAH to hold the North lot and my Grandson JOHN
MAYBURY the South lot also-my Stock of all kinds
Household and Kitchen furniture so long as she remains
single the be sold and the money to be Eaqually[sp] divided
between by son SPENCER JOSIAH JOHN MAYBURY An
POLLY ORAND in Testimony whereof I have hereunto set
my hand & seal in present of and JOSIAH My young
