(5) Julia Ann King, daughter of James Moore, Col., and Martha (BATEY) King,
was born 28 Mar 1825 and married (16) Charles W. Moore. Julia Ann died
15 May 1902.
(6) William Rufus King, son of James Moore, Col., and Martha (BATEY) King,
was born 28 Nov 1826. William Rufus died 9 Jul 1846.
While a student at Franklin College, near Nashville, he was enlisted in
the Mexican War, but he died before he was called into Service. He was
never married.
(7) Helen Jane King, daughter of James Moore, Col., and Martha (BATEY) King,
was born 10 Oct 1828 and married (17) Captain John Lytle. Helen Jane died
8 Oct 1887.
He was a Captain of Company D in the 11 Cavelry in the Confederate Army.
(9) James Moore, Jr. King, son of James Moore, Col., and Martha (BATEY) King,
was born 5 Mar 1833 in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and married 31 Aug 1871 in near
Murfreesboro, Tenn, (18) Sallie ALEXANDER. James Moore, Jr. died 9 Apr 1900
and was buried in Evergreen Cemete, Murfreesboro, TN. Sallie died 12 May
1874 in Murfreesboro, Tenn and was buried in Evergreen Cemete, Murfreesboro,
Tenn.
Enlisted in April, 1861 in Rutherford Rifles, under Captain William
Ledbetter, Company I, 1st Tennessee Regiment of Volunteers, C.S.A.

(Bettie) died 21 Oct 1904. Lt. Samuel Houston died 8 Oct 1862 in Battle
of Perryv, Ky..

(12) Thomas Moore King, son of James Moore, Col., and Martha (BATEY) King,
was born 18 Jun 1840 in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and married 20 Dec 1865 in
Tenn, (26) Mary TURNER who was born 31 Mar 1843. Thomas Moore died 19
Nov 1918. Mary died Aug 1921 in Rutherford, Tenn.
Thomas Moore King and Mary Turner had eight children that survived them.
(13) Marion DeKalb King, son of James Moore, Col., and Martha (BATEY) King,
was born 19 Jul 1843 in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and married 18 Jan 1876, (27)
Emily RUCKER. Marion DeKalb died 22 May 1925 in Nashville, Tenn and was
buried in Nashville, Tenn..
He had 11 children, 10 of which were living at his death.

(14) John Hicks King, son of James Moore, Col., and Martha (BATEY) King,
was born 10 Oct 1845 and married 17 May 1882, (29) Mrs. Ophelia ALEXANDER
RUCKER. John Hicks died 8 May 1919 in Murfreesboro, TN and was buried in
Evergreen Cemete, near Murfreesboro.
He enlisted as a soldier in Captain John Lytle's Company, the 11th Tenn.
Calvary in 1862, at age 16. He only weighed 100 lbs. He was murdered on
his father land in Murfreesboro.

Dec 1932. Margaret Olivia died 21 Apr 1889 and was buried in King's
Cemetery., TN.
William compiled many of the notes used by Jennette King in her paper on
Col. James Moore King. Moved to Harlingen, TX in Feb. 1909.

(28) Ernest Reed King, son of Marion DeKalb and Emily (RUCKER) King, was
born 1881 and married 5 Dec 1910, (37) Lillian TOWNSEND who was born Apr
1889 in Kilmichael, Montgomery, MS. Ernest Reed died 1957 in Greenwood,
Leflore, Miss and was buried in Itta Bena, Leflore, Miss. Lillian died
1961 in Tupelo, Miss and was buried in Itta Bena, Leflore, Miss.

was born 21 Feb 1916 in Itta Bena, Leflore Co., Miss, and married 14 Jun
1940 in Greenwood, Leflore, Miss, (50) Mary Frances ROE who was born 20
Jul 1917 in Indianola, MS. Paul TOWNSEND died 26 Mar 1969 in Greenville,

Mary Frances died 16 Jul 1995 in Slidell, St. Tammany Pari, LA and was buried
17 Jul 1995 in Greenville, Washington, Mississippi.
Mary Frances Roe King was my mother. She died of liver cancer at age 77.
The last few years of her life, she lived in Slidell, LA with her daughter,
Ann Roe McClure.
(41) Albert RANSOM King, son of Ernest Reed and Lillian (TOWNSEND) King,
was born 12 Feb 1920 and married 5 Jun 1943, (53) Frances Elizabeth RINGOLD
who was born 14 Feb 1922 in Lynn, MS. Albert RANSOM died 28 Oct 1994 in
Greenwood, MS and was buried 30 Oct 1994 in Odd Fellows Ceme, Greenwood, MS.
Albert suffered from Alheimers, but died of a heart attach.
(42) Walter Floyd King, son of Ernest Reed and Lillian (TOWNSEND) King,
was born 24 Apr 1925 and married 15 Jun 1949, (54) Janie GILL. Walter
Floyd died Mar 1969 in Whitehaven, Tenn.
Walter Floyd KING committed Suicide by shoting himself in the head one
afternoon. This was excatly two weeks afer his brother Paul Townsend King
had died of cancer. He left a note say he was going to "join Paul now"
(or "going to see Paul now").
(43) Joseph Sherrod King, son of Ernest Reed and Lillian (TOWNSEND) King,
was born 13 Mar 1928 in Greenwood, Leflore, Miss, and married 22 Mar 1951
in Inverness, Sunflower, Miss, (55) Zulene MELTON. Joseph Sherrod died
Sep 1982 in Greenwood, Leflore, Miss and was buried in Greenwood,
OddFellow Cemetery, Miss.
