Sources and Discussion

The above ages are estimated. None of the records which were cited for this family gives any exact dates, and over the years many people have estimated the ages quite differently. If Michael did indeed arrive in America about 1645, then it seems likely that he would have come of age around 1851 and probably would have married soon thereafter. From this, it would seem logical to expect that his children were born in the 1650s and early 1660s. We know that Michael Jr, William and Nathan received a VA Land Patent in 1694, so had to have been born at least by 1670s. I wish to emphasize that as far as I can see from the Wilson and Glover book, no verifiable birth or death date has been found to allow for a closer approximation, so researchers should be very careful about accepting or rejecting possible connections based on birthdate alone. Anyone who studies these listings and can cite evidence to suggest a closer approximation of age, please let me know.
