SECOND GENERATION
Nathan King (11), son of Michael and Elizabeth (Hiry) King, was born ca 1653 in Nansemond Co VA. On the 1704 Quit Rents list, he owned 700 acres in Nansemond Co VA. Wilson and Glover give the text of a deposition taken by Edward Moseley in 1707. Apparently Nathan had moved from his land in Nansemond Co VA to the mouth of the Roanoke River (which appears to me to empty into Albermarle Sound, now a part of NC. [loupero]). Henry King (14), son of Michael and Elizabeth (Hiry) King, was born
(estimated) 1655 in Nansemond Co VA. This Henry has been said to have
married Catherine Clarke.

Henry owned 300 acres in Nansemond Co at the time of the 1704 quit rents,
but may have actually lived in Chowan Co NC before 1700. When he died
in 1715/16, in Chowan Co, he left land in Nansemond Co, which establishes
his connection to Nansemond.
Henry's will doesn't mention a wife, but probate records establish that
his widow, Katherine, had married Gerrard Lynch by Nov 1716. Children
mentioned in Henry's will, with birth years estimated, were:
