John King (121), son of Michael King (12), is shown to be the John King who went to Elizabeth City County VA. Click here for HLK's reasoning and documentation. John's father, Michael King 12, might have been born ca 1650, John would have been born ca 1670/3 in order to fit into the inforation we have about the family. The deed in 1697 where he had imported Sarah and Elizabeth King would imply that he was married by then, had at least one or two children, and had been to England and returned (perhaps was educated to be a doctor in England? This is my speculation). From this I believe his children with Sarah were probably born in the 1690's.

(24) Michael King, son of Dr John King, was b abt 1705 prob at Elizabeth City Co. He died 13 Jan 1735 Elizabeth City Co. His wife was Jane, who had married (2) William Allen by 1742.

(25) William King, son of Dr John King, was b ca 1707 prob at Elizabeth City Co VA and died there by 1747, married Mary Curle, dau of Joshua Curle of Elizabeth City County, VA. Wilson and Glover refer to the estate (citing "Wills and Administrations of Elizabeth City County, VA, and Other Genealogical and Historical Items" by B A Chapman), when appraisers were appointed 5 May 1747. (W & G p 99) Other records are also cited. Then, on page 113, W & G quote the same records for William, the son of John, son of Michael. A descendant says it is a "good working hypothesis" that this is William, the son of John.

(26) Charles King, son of John King and Rebecca Moss Armistead, was born abt 1720 at Elizabeth City Co VA and died there 1761. (Hampton Co VA, according to Patterson.) He served as a vestryman in Elizabeth City Parish 1751-1754. He married Elizabeth Tabb, who m (2) James Westwood. Charles and Elizabeth had six children under age when he died.
