FIFTH GENERATION - WILLIAM KING(15551)

William King(15551) was born about 1770 and was the oldest of the six children of Henry King(1555) who died in 1782. He married Abigail Lee, daughter of Henry Lee and wife Sarah Sholar 17 September 1791 in Bertie County. William inherited all the land previously owned by his father. This included part of the land patented by William King in 1703. He sold this land in 1799 and early 1800 in three separate transactions and joined his wife's brother, Joshua Lee in Guilford County. William married Sarah Allen in 1825 in Guilford County. This would infer that Abigail was dead by that date. William appeared prominently in the records of Guilford County until about 1833 by which time he had disposed of most of the land he had bought there on Reedy Fork of Haw River. I have not found where he was living when he died nor have I found a record of his death.

died about 1855. (This is my ancestor)
