Land Records
One of my favorite places to visit on the internet is the Library of Virginia's Digital Collections. I have spent hours pouring over their land warrants and grants looking for relatives. I have found many. I will be attempting to copy the records and post them here for you to read. It will be a long process, so do check back every now and then to see if I have added any to them. I will put any personal notes of my own in italics, so you know that they are NOT an actual part of the record.
Land documents found at the BLM site do not show what lands are adjoining that of the patentee, therefore, the name at the top of the document is the only name listed.
I have capitalized the names listed in the land records, so you can locate them easier. I have also posted the records below in chronological order so that you can see who was where first.
